Who are we?

This is the part of the website where you come to have a nose to find out who these people are that take images. There will be no long story about how we were born holding cameras, this is an honest who we are…..

The Back Story

We are Adam and Lucy Drake, we live with our two children Molly and Harry on our small holding in Gloucestershire. We were both born in Cirencester 6 days apart and were on the same ward for 1 day as babies. We went to the same Playgroup, secondary school, college and University. We finally noticed each other whilst both working at Waitrose on the Meat and Fish counter and what can I say she had me at Halibut.

From there we both went to University in Winchester and stayed in Hampshire for 5 years until the allure of Gloucestershire drew us back. We then married in Duntisbourne Abbots and had the reception at the Frogmill (before it was really nice like it is now!) which finished at 5am (something for you to aim for.)

Lucy then decided it was a good idea to have children and Molly soon followed, Lucy then decided that Molly needed a play mate, cue Harry. During this time Adam decided that he quite enjoyed taking pictures and thought I can do this, so trained with a photographer in Oxfordshire for 18 months, Adam Drake Photography was born!

After a few years in Stonehouse, our house was starting to burst, so we started the dreaded search for a house……………… scroll down……..

Where are we now

We decided to cross the Severn and move to the Forest of Dean, to our small holding something we had always talked about. When we are not shooting weddings, editing or doing admin we could be milking goats, planting vegetables, making cheese, baking, trimming sheep/goats feet, picking vegetables, feeding animals, shoveling poo (this could be goat, sheep, chicken or turkey,) cutting firewood, making preserves, hatching eggs, curing bacon etc. you get idea, essentially we are living what some people call “the good life”, its amazing fun!

That’s pretty much us. If you like our work and think you can stomach us for the day feel free to contact us, you could even arrange a meeting to come over talk through your plans and meet the goats!
